About the Artist

Jennifer Marshall resides in New York’s Finger Lakes Region. Her photography is inspired through her love of nature, light and structure. Combined with her love of nature and commitment to preserving the environment, she is also drawn to architecture. She sees elements of design in both the natural environment and in man-made structures. She is continually drawn to explore the relationship of light and form in a variety of settings.

Jennifer sells her work wholesale in stores throughout several states, participates in juried craft shows, shows her work in art shows in New York State and engages in commissioned work.

Before she began selling her work, Jennifer shared images she had taken each year with friends and family through the making of cards. It was through their encouragement that she began to approach stores and sell her cards. Jennifer Marshall’s handcrafted photographic cards and journals capture nature, architecture, landscapes and animals. Each card and the journal pages are made with 100% post-consumer recycled fiber. The images are printed on photographic paper and developed with a process that warrants minimal fading over time. The paper and the adhesive used to mount the photographs are acid free and are used to maintain and ensure the integrity of the image. Her cards and journals are currently available in stores in New York, North Carolina, Rhode Island, and Pennsylvania.

Jennifer has shown her work in several galleries both in New York and North Carolina. Her images are available matted and framed in a variety of sizes with either metal or wooden frames depending on your preference. Some images are available as limited edition prints. Images are available matted or if you prefer, matted and framed with archival materials.

Jennifer has had the pleasure to work on a variety of commissioned projects in which she has collaborated in some exciting endeavors. She has done commissioned work for the Paleontological Research Institute’s Museum of the Earth http://www.museumoftheearth.org including a photographic mural of Lucifer Falls installed on one of the walls of the museum and images that support permanent exhibits. She has been photographing images of fossils, a Mastodon, and the collection at the Institute. She also worked with the Chicamacomico Life Saving Station Historical Site http://www.chicamacomico.net recording the artifacts and historical renovations being completed on the site in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Jennifer is always interested in collaborations and opportunities to pursue special projects.

She enjoys traveling and shooting what she finds outdoors as she explores and sees the world. Jennifer also looks more closely at still life images through images she creates in a studio setting.
